PWP 51: The Overturn of Roe v. Wade isn't Just About Abortion

Episode Summary

This episode is pretty heavy and emotional, as should be expected from the topic of Roe v. Wade being overturned. Justin and Rebecca talk about our feelings on it, as well as how this is a much more complicated issue then most people think. Abortion has been used, both in the past and in the present, as a way to get rid of disability, while the importance of bodily autonomy is incredibly important within the disability community. The overturning of Roe v. Wade also has implications for other rights to privacy (same sex marriage, contraception, etc.) that aren't "constitutional." We do not have answers, or necessarily the "right" view point. But we hope that we can be another place where you can grieve, rage, lament, and maybe better understand why this is action by the Supreme Court isn't just about abortion.
